How to Set Up Lemon Link on Your Computer
A step-by-step 2026 guide to installing and setting up Lemon Link, the lemon.gallery desktop app, on Mac or Windows.
Setting up Lemon Link takes a few minutes: download the app, sign in with your existing lemon.gallery account, connect this computer and download the alt text model. After that, it works from the tray.
1. Download and install
Download Lemon Link from your account settings and install it like any other native app for your operating system.
2. Sign in
Use your existing lemon.gallery login. There is no separate account to create; the desktop app connects to the same account you already use in the browser.
3. Connect this computer and download the model
On the desktop settings screen, connect this computer so it can pick up jobs queued for it. Nothing is downloaded until you press Download there; the model then writes alt text for your photos on your computer, free.
4. Keep it running
Closing the window keeps Lemon Link in the tray, where it picks up jobs queued for your computer. It works one photo at a time at low priority and pauses when the battery is low.
