Frequently asked questions
Which is simpler to set up?
Pixieset's narrower focus generally means fewer settings to configure; Zenfolio's website builder adds more surface area to learn.
Do I still need a separate website with Pixieset?
You need Pixieset's own Website product, which has a free plan, or its Suite (checked 5 October 2026). Zenfolio bundles the site into its plans.
Which has stronger print sales?
Both fulfil print and digital sales; the meaningful difference is that Zenfolio's is one part of a bigger website product, while it's Pixieset's entire focus.
Is Zenfolio's website builder good enough to skip a separate site?
For most photographers, yes — it covers a full public site with galleries built in, which Pixieset sells as a separate Website product.
