How does the hub stay current?
Automatically. Deliver a new gallery to that client and it appears in their hub without you doing anything. Send an invoice, same. The link you gave them at the start of the job is still the right link two years later, which is exactly when they come back for the family session.
How is this different from a client portal in a CRM?

Is the hub secure without a login?
Each hub link carries a long unguessable token, the same approach banks use for statement links. You can disable and reissue a client's link at any time.
Do I have to set the hub up per client?
One click on the client's profile enables it. Everything you have already shared with them backfills on its own.
