Cookie Policy

1. What this covers

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This policy covers lemon.gallery and the galleries, booking pages and public studio pages we host. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal data more generally. We use the word "cookies" loosely here to include similar browser storage — and section 5 lists that storage by name, because an exemption nobody told you about looks like something being hidden.

2. Strictly necessary (always on)

These make the service function, so they don't need consent and can't be switched off from inside the app. They cover:

Blocking these in your browser is your right, but parts of the app will stop working — you won't be able to stay logged in.

3. Analytics (only with your consent)

If you agree, we load Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager on our own marketing and landing pages. They tell us things like which pages people read, which routes into a signup work, and where something is broken. We use it to improve the product and our own marketing, not to build a profile of you. If you say no, these scripts are never loaded.

Separately, on a studio's enquiry and booking pages, we count how many people reached each step of the form and where they gave up — that's how a photographer finds out that everyone abandons at the budget question. To do that we keep a random id in your browser so the same visit isn't counted as five different people. Working out which advert or link brought you there is a different job: that is attribution, it needs your consent, and where consent hasn't been given the drop-off is counted without it.

4. Advertising (only with your consent)

If you agree, we load advertising and conversion-measurement tags — the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking — so we can tell whether an advert we paid for actually led to a signup, and so those platforms can show our ads to relevant people. If you say no, they are never loaded.

Referral links belong in this category too. If you arrive through a creator's or affiliate's link (a lemon.gallery/r/… address), we would like to remember for 30 days which one it was, so that if you sign up later they get credit for it. That is marketing attribution, not something the site needs to function, so it waits for the same consent as everything else here: say no and the referral cookie is never set — the link still takes you where it was going.

5. Other things we store in your browser

Not everything we keep in your browser is a cookie, and most of it is there because you asked for it — a preference you set, a thing you dismissed, a basket you filled. Those don't need consent under the rules, but you should still know they exist:

None of these are shared with anyone, and clearing your browser storage clears the lot — you'll just get the popup and the guides back.

6. Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as agreeing was — one click, right here: . The banner comes back, your new choice applies from that point on, and non-essential scripts stop loading. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and use its "do not track" or private-browsing options — though clearing cookies also clears the record of your choice, so we'll ask again.

7. Cookies set by other people

When you pay, Stripe handles the payment and sets its own cookies to process it and to guard against fraud. That processing is covered by Stripe's own policies. Embedded content from other services may behave the same way.

8. Photographers' own sites and galleries

Studios using lemon.gallery can connect their own analytics or advertising tags (for example their own Google Tag Manager container or Meta Pixel) to their public pages, galleries and booking forms. Those tags belong to the studio, not to us: the studio decides whether to use them and is responsible for obtaining consent from their own visitors and telling them about it. If you're a studio doing this, that duty is yours.

9. Changes & contact

We'll update this page when what we load changes. Questions about cookies: privacy@lemon.gallery.
